The Islahane Cultural Hub will host the solo exhibition of Finnish artist and jewelry designer Laura Saarivuori-Eskola, titled "25 Years by Hand", from June 2 to June 12, 2026.

As part of the exhibition, a "Meet the Artist" event will take place on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, where the public will have the opportunity to meet the creator in person and discuss with her the techniques, materials, and concepts that run through her work.

Laura Saarivuori-Eskola's presence in Thessaloniki represents a significant opportunity for cultural exchange between Finland and Greece, fostering dialogue around contemporary craft, sustainable design, and modern artistic practices.

The exhibition brings together works from the artist's twenty-five-year creative journey and includes unique jewelry and small art objects made from repurposed metal items, old coins, silver spoons, and cutlery.

The public will have the opportunity to see a special collection of bracelets, rings, brooches, earrings, and sculptural necklaces, as well as small silver boxes and artistic objects, through which Saarivuori-Eskola explores the relationship between memory, craftsmanship, sustainability, and contemporary aesthetics. In her works, she transforms everyday objects into narrative pieces of contemporary design, highlighting the value of reuse and materiality.

Among the works in the exhibition are series such as "Penny Jewelry", made from Finnish coins, the necklaces "Chain of Silver Marks" and "Vaskesta palaset veistetty", as well as small silver boxes made from repurposed cutlery.

Laura Saarivuori-Eskola lives and works in Tampere, Finland. Since 2006, she has been active as a jewelry designer through her personal practice EKORU, while also serving as Exhibition Manager for Tampere Architecture and Design Week and being an active member of the Finnish design and cultural scene.

Her artistic practice operates at the intersection of nature, sustainability, and traditional Finnish jewelry techniques. Through reclaimed and responsibly sourced materials, she creates works that speak of renewal, transformation, and our relationship with consumption and beauty.
